David Archuleta’s Father Outted as ‘The Worst Stage Dad’ (MTV.com)
Poor lil Davey. As if competing on “Idol” in front of the entire nation weren’t enough, it turns out that he has one Dina Lohan-level stage parent to contend with. Naomi Judd was on the Today show yesterday and confirmed all the rumors that David Archuleta’s dad Jeff is a nightmare.
Naomi was a judge on “Star Seach” back in 2003-2004, when little David was on the show. She confirms that the show had to put security on Jeff because he was — how do you say? — totally bonkers. Like, Gypsy-Rose-Lee’s-momma kind of bonkers. There have been rumors for months about the old “Star Search” incidents — and Naomi finally confirmed them. She even took a moment on live TV to ask the man to “leave [David] alone,” calling him “the worst stage dad.” read more >>
I’m happy that David Archuleta, a contestant from American Idol 7, is gay. I mean, no he didn’t announce it to the whole world, but I looked at some videos on Youtube, him singing when he was only 12 years old. His movements were very soft and all.
And how would I know?
Because I’m gay. And my gaydar picks up stuff. David Archuleta and I have a lot of things in common.
1) We’re likeable 2) We’re good looking 3) We have a great voice 4) We’re gay
But I’m not bashing him or anything. I love gay contestants, especially when they’re young, like Danny Norliega. Another gay boy. Which feels really good, to see these gay people who can sing so amazing and impressive like hell. It makes me proud to be gay too. Representing for the queers, homos, whatev. read more >>
Is David Hernandez gay? Yes. And guess what? He's headed back to his gay stripping after getting the boot from American Idol. In fact...he will be available all summer now that he won't be bothered with that annoying American Idol tour. Only the Top Ten get to go.
Similarly unburdened with summer touring is the fabulous Amanda Overmyer. Although not gay, she embodied the savage individualism AI often misses and gay people love. We'll miss you Amanda. Kick ass.
The show now has very little to offer a gay audience other than the obvious wondering about cute David Archuleta. But, let's be serious, folks. David Archuleta is not gay. If your gaydar is correctly tuned, you will agree. I will admit that he is likely to trigger a false-positive, what with his adorable shyness and ability to channel divas in his singing. I just keep repeating one word over and over in my mind: Mormon. read more >>
Chances are that he will never come out. Even though he tips my gaydar beyond the questionable mark, I guess I have to look at the actual, real, ya know...empirical evidence.
First off...he is only 17. I know that times have changed and it is MUCH easier to be out and young. However, statistics still support that most people do not come out until their college years or beyond. Despite the fact that he is an A student at his high school, David is not going to have college years. He will be singing and performing from now until he collapses from exhaustion in about twenty years. read more >>
Danny Noriega is seen in the video below declaring himself to be gay. I love Danny's attitude, even in THIS sassy video. The YouTube video came out before Danny was a finalist on American Idol. So, the wondering is over. Danny Noriega is gay. He is also no longer a contestant on American Idol.
Good luck, Danny. No doubt you are going to be a fierce performer.
My name is RU Gay. I am not a celebrity reporter and I have no authority to even know the people I talk about. I am just a gay guy having some fun posing the question over and over again: Is He Gay?
I am 38 years old and live in fabulous Portland, Oregon. I have chosen the theme image for this blog based on its beauty and gayness. It is not an image of me. This blog is not about me. Sorry if this creates any confusion.
