Is David Archuleta Gay?

Chances are that he will never come out. Even though he tips my gaydar beyond the questionable mark, I guess I have to look at the actual, real, ya know...empirical evidence.

First off...he is only 17. I know that times have changed and it is MUCH easier to be out and young. However, statistics still support that most people do not come out until their college years or beyond. Despite the fact that he is an A student at his high school, David is not going to have college years. He will be singing and performing from now until he collapses from exhaustion in about twenty years.

That is not to say that he is not gay. It only means that he is starting down the path of superstardom as a cuddly cute teen and there is not a handler in the world who will let him come out and deny his marketability to Hannah Montana teeny boppers.

Second off...he is Mormon. There are, of course, gay Mormons, but they don't come out.

So...what does this all mean? Well...comments on Rickey.org make a good point that David may simply be this year's Clay Aiken (they have similar singing styles.) That means that he will do well far into the competition and that he will grow into Simon's targeted punching bag (as Clay was.) Simon Cowell is a famous homophobe who often asserts that American Idol is a singing competition while making comments about a competitors image.

Is David Archuleta gay? I think he may be. Will he ever come out? Nope. Will ALL of us enjoy some great music in the meantime? Yep.

Now..before all of you people start telling me that I should mind my own business and leave David alone, please understand that ME wondering if someone is GAY is a compliment to that person. We need more out, gay, fabulous people. Should I just leave David alone and let him sing? Of course. Am I really bothering him? I doubt it.

Hi Im in the closet, straight acting but very gay. Well I love my gayness and my gaydar but more so, I love boys. David is like the top of the heap for me. My comment is this: Isnt his religeon a big factoe as well? I had a freind who was so obviously gay but he was mormom and thats why he is still in the closet and will probably never come out. I love David Archuleta!!!

If it turns out that David Archuleta is indeed gay, the Mormon church will have one of its famous "revelations" stating that Heavenly Father says gay sex is acceptable. No way are they going to piss him off and risk losing their 10%tithing, with the potential billions he could make. Mormonism is all about money.

Why all the fuss
So the man is gay,,, so he's not,,, big friggin deal,,, good God, I live in a small town in North Carolina, maybe he just wants to have a life, a partner, and a career, why is it up to everyone else to drag this poor guy out of the closet? He could be bi.. you never know.. Just because someone may act gay, or seem like it... yet flirt with girls (which i dont know if he does or not), or even kisses them... he could still be bi... (bi meaning you will go both ways with both male and female)
