A fan of this blog wrote to me:

"In the episode of Mythbusters were they are testing an engine to try and blow it up, adam asks jamie to rev the engine. After jamie does so adam says "yeah you got it, honey"! Then the camera changes angle to a front on shot of adams face and he mouths "oh". I love this show and have been watching it for 2 years looking for clues, and my expert opinion says we are right on this one. If you want to watch it I think it was the first season, and someone donates a car to them, they use the engine for what I said before, they shoot the door to stop the bullets, and see if a scuba diver can be picked up out of the water and dropped on a forest fire. Look for it. Have fun!"

I have some bad news, though. An expert from the Yahoo MythBuster Slash group wrote to me to say that, although it would be great fun if our two heroes were gay, they are not (what does she know.....?)

Anyway, she said that the references from Adam to Jamie that sound like "honey" (if you recall from my first blog entry, it was my UNMISTAKEABLE catch of that word being said from Adam to Jamie in an episode that actually started this whole blog) are actually the word "Hynie," a nickname based on Jamie's last name "Hyneman."

Is "Hynie" any less gay than "Honey?"

Tory & Grant?
Caught an episode of Mythbusters this weekend (a marathon was on) and in one episode, Grant is driving a car fast down a bumpy road to test a myth about that being a smoother ride than going slowly. They rigged up a water device in the seat next to Grant to test how much water comes out by going either fast of slow. At the end of the test, Tory says to Grant "your pants are all wet, I hope that's just water" and Grant says to Tory "why don't you come over and find out". I nearly pee'd myself laughing. I don't know about Grant, but I'd definately do Tory!

i had to listen a couple of times for it, but adam distinctly calls jamie "baby" when he gets in the raft at the end of the episode, as in "you da man, baby!" -- a new addict :-)
