I Don’t Know You

I know nothing of you
Not knowing what kind of music you like
or scents of incense
or favorite movies
or books
or food.
what you really do on the weekend.
I do not know if you can match my intensity.
can match my passion
will trust me to take us to God.?

I do not know if you
like laying on the beach
flying a kite...
Is your favorite color the sun setting
or the blue of the lake
or green of new leaves.

Do you like the smell of sweat?  
Do you like the feel of a soft animal curled up
purring or sighing beside you.
Do you drink tea and read in bed...
Do you burn candles and listen to the quiet…
to seek beyond the stars for the intent of all life..

I do not know you..
How am I to know you?  
And for you .. how are you to know me?

Do not take me lightly or with little profoundness..
for my life is full of many things
you have not discovered..

I have never let a lover go easily…
binding them to our time and space
so that our companionship
will serve us well throughout eternity..

We are bonding if you go
I will be sad in a rather ordinary
way of expressing myself.
in the end you will remain my friend
and lover for an eternity.

For you touched my soul
taking me to God
I have touched your soul
taking you to God
we have known each other
in knowledge and being…

My irritations are little
have little do with you
but with the rhythm and
symbols that play out in our lives
waiting for the arriving time
and place for new cycles to begin

I am not an agapi that has holes to be filled
or self esteem to be built
or a god to be discovered
I have experienced God
standing beyond all time and space.
I am like Dante
returning from hell and mountain peak
knowing who I am
yet not knowing

Who are you in this scheme
laying itself before me?
