Just a new millenium "mid-lifer" hanging on to my free spirit and my need to live a fulfilling life outside the restrictive conventions of clocks and calendars.  So much time is spent on trying to make free time for ourselves that the process basically drains our ability to truly enjoy the moment when we are finally free of obligation. Cell phones, texting, IM-ing, email, etc. are heavy-handed, two-faced culprits in the demise of free time. Enjoying downtime is not so easy to do in this era of technological "attachedness".  So what am I doing writing a blog?  Read on and hopefully you and I will find out...

last night i cried.  actually i cried quite a bit but no one could tell. it was dark and people were laughing, including me.   was i sad?  no.  wistful, maybe?  yes!, wistful is the right word.  in the middle of all the laughter i started to miss those days when laughing with my friends was the only priority i had to worry about.  i cried for that.  god, i’m such a fag!

the rebecca connection

normally i try not to fiddle with the truth but i had to change names of the people involved in this story due to certain unresolved issues in their lives where a positive conclusion requires that they remain anonymous.  it is not out of shame or self-loathing but because of legal repercussions that could detrimentally affect the lives of innocent by-standers.  wow! sounds like drama already and i haven’t even written much…

okay so i did a really crap synopsis of my relationship with rebecca on my last post “…coming out of the woodworks…”  but like i said, then, this will be quite long.  we do have 32 years of knowing each other that can’t just be explained away in a paragraph or two.  god, that would be horrible if we did have a 32 year friendship that had no depth and was explained away in a paragraph or two.  well, ours is not this case.  so i shall begin…read more >>

i have been thinking lately about trying to find yet another special friend from high school, only this person and i have history that goes as far back as first grade.  we even dated for a while after high school and she was the woman i lost my virginity to.

the story gets even better, but it happens to be quite long so i will do the short sweet version...

we were straight. we almost got married.  we could have had kids together.  we broke up.  we lost touch.  then i went gay.  by coincidence we ran into each other a gay bar.  we stayed friends, but we drifted apart.  it's been something like six years of being out of touch.  today i got a message from her on facebook.  we will be friends again!read more >>

first, i hope you had a happy mother's day.  that means you too edwin. heheheeheeee. anyway, i just wanted to send out a small update on who i've found online.  matt fxxxxxxxx.
i got this yesterday.
Hey Danny!

How the heck are you my friend?!?!?!  Man, talk about
a shout from the past!  I was thinking of the whole
group the other day when i got that infernal reminder
of my advancing age!  I can hardly believe it has been
20 years!  I have wondered about how you were over the
last few years, but the last time I tried to reach
you, I ran into dead ends.  But I realize I am mostly

matt from 'memories of a gay-sha' sends me a reply
(0) comments,   (0) trackbacks

i finally got a response back from my dear old friend matt.  my e-mail to him was part of a previous post, memories of a gay-sha.   i've included just my e-mail to his mom that was forwarded to matt here with his response back.

it was about time.  the wait was starting to get to me.  i've been waiting for over a week.   i worried all kinds of scenarios for why he hadn't responded back:
1) his mom never got the message i sent her because of some internet screw up
2)  his mom didn't get the message because something bad had happened to her
